We are on a mission to teach girls the importance of a healthy skincare routine with an emphasis on daily sun protection. Just like brushing your teeth is a daily habit, so is taking care of your skin. Afterall, skin is your body’s largest organ, your birthday suit, the one outfit your daughter can never take off.

We believe in girls, not harsh chemicals! At this age girls just need good tried and true, safe ingredients that won't cause them harm as their bodies develop over the years. We promise to always deliver the highest quality skincare products (products that we use and our families use each day!), along with educational tips and plenty of inspiration to help each girl be the best version of herself.

XO, Kelly and Dr. Carole

The first and only dermatologist founded skincare line for girls.

We believe in the power of girls! Our company teaches and inspires girls every day in a healthy, age-appropriate, youthful, fun way. Our call to action is to take care of yourself, to be kind, and to give back to others in small and big ways. When inspired to do good, girls have the power to do amazing things. We want to empower girls to take control of their health, their bodies, and their lives and to use their talents, gifts, and energy to help make their dreams come true while striving to make the world a better place to live.

PREP is relevant to all girls – to REAL girls of any color, any background, any interest, and any socioeconomic status. We believe all of us share the universal language of a SMILE. We inspire every girl to celebrate and share what she believes makes her beautiful; true beauty shines through each girl in her own unique way. We want kindness, altruism, and authenticity to be the goals the world is encouraging rather than society’s unobtainable ideal of perfection.

We encourage girls to nurture their inner and outer beauty EVERY DAY by taking care of themselves – their skin, their mind, and their overall health. In each of our products, we use simple, trusted ingredients that are safe for all skin types and can be used daily. Each product undergoes stringent microbiology, preservative, skin, and eye irritant testing.

All SPF products undergo the same testing, as well as additional tests which also adhere to the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines.

PREP is an advocate for consistent sun PROTECTION. Daily use of sunscreen protects girls’ skin and helps to prevent skin cancer. Although it is never too late to start wearing sunscreen, the younger you start, the better! Protect yourself by PREPing your skin every day for a lifetime of beautiful, healthy skin. Our mission is to help educate each and every PREP girl on the best way to care for herself and her skin today, tomorrow, and for years to come. After all, her skin is her body’s largest organ, it’s her birthday suit, and it’s the one outfit she can never take off. The beauty regimen she starts NOW will be visible on her skin for the rest of her life.

Kelly Barker obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University. Rather than pursue medicine, she went on to complete her master’s degree at the University of Texas at Arlington. She spent the next 15 years working in the corporate world, spending the latter half of her career with JPMorgan Chase. She is the visionary behind PREP and a true humanitarian. She loves giving, and she loves people! Kelly has a daughter and a son, both who love the outdoors and swimming. Rain or shine, her children no longer sport tan lines; they wear their sunscreen every single day so they can enjoy the sun on their terms and have a lifetime of healthy skin.

“Good Morning” by Mandisa
If I had a plane ticket to go anywhere in the world
I would take my hubby and kids to New Zealand (I did one of my grad school courses at University of Auckland). We would rent an RV and travel around both the north and south islands!
I am really good at
Being creative and solving problems.
Best advice I have received
“If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself, and then make a change.” – from “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson
When I wake up each day, I…
Choose to have a positive attitude. It really is a choice. Life is all about your mindset, so get your mind right and don’t let anyone change it!
Two random facts about me
  1. I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,340 feet) in Tanzania, Africa, for charity. We helped raise money to build an orphanage. It was a life-changing event for me!
  2. I am a Chi Omega.
My Mom…
…has shown me that hard work and kindness create unique opportunities. She’s amazing!

If I had a plane ticket to go anywhere in the world
I would wait until summer, fly to Switzerland, and spend my days hiking in the Alps and my evenings reading a good book while eating Swiss cheese.
I am really good at
Solving puzzles.
Best advice I have received
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes; it is often the mistakes that help you learn the most.
Someone just handed me $20 and…
I would go buy a book! It’s really the only thing I splurge on.
Two random facts about me
  1. I saved my friend’s life when I was 8. He was choking on a piece of candy, and I gave him the Heimlich maneuver!
  2. I had reconstructive knee surgery in high school, which inspired me to become a doctor.
My Mom…
…is my inspiration. She has overcome so much adversity in her life but has faced it all with courage, grace, and unbelievable kindness.
